AMAZING video and magical words for soothing the soul during this tough change in plans for campers and counselors. Beautiful Camp, Beautiful People. Thank you. Be well and stay well!
What a lovely video! My grandchildren and their mother, Laura Crabb Winfield, had a wonderful time at family camp last summer. I know so many girls will be so sad to miss camp but will be happily waiting for 2021. Bless you all and have a safe and restful summer.
Hi Sue, Betsy and all at ALC, hope you and your families are all keeping safe and well in these difficult times. I am sure that this has been an incredibly difficult decision to make but by staying apart, you become closer. And in these difficult times, like you have been doing, for some many weeks, you will as Mrs. M so often puts it, “flex”, take challenges head on and find new and alternative ways to connect to your family, your camp family.

Hello sue and Betsy! I cried watching your video! You are so full of love for each and everything of these girls! It feels like more now than ever. We will be together again! We love you! Xo Heather Altenburg
I am so sad for all involved with ALC, especially all the campers who are so excited to come back. As Sue said these are unprecedented times. Remember the most important thing of all is maintaining everyones health. One can't to achieve the fabulous, amazing feats that ALC offers if you or a family member is sick. Sue Betsy and Mrs. M love all of you so much ,I can't imagine how sad they are feeling. so please stay in touch with them until the return to ALC in 2021
Thank you for sharing this... such a beautiful
Hello Sue and Betsy,
Another first in your long and beautiful history of ALC!
Your video is lovely in showing us all the enriching environment and great character of a camp that one always remembers having been part of throughout life. My girls often break out in camp songs that are so much a part of them along with happy, happy memories at having had ALC experiences.
There will be more summer camp days when the dark clouds pass, as they will.
As my dear Nana always said, "Every cloud has a silver lining."

“Alford Lakers can do hard things.” Thank you for this reminder that just as we approach challenges at ALC with determination and positive energy, so too can we look at this quarantine with the same approach. We can do hard things. And when we come out on the other side, we will be so proud of what we’ve done and who we’ve become. (Apologies for the multiple half-finished comments - please delete if you can!)
I am so incredibly proud of the way you are all
handling this 2020 summer. Special love to Sue
and Betsy for the courage they have shown throughout
all of this chaos. And a special shout out to Bubs Tomlinson
for her poetic handling of Alford Lake's feelings in that
Love and respect to you all.
Thank you for this beautiful video! I am so sad not to have camp this summer but can't wait for 2021. Sending lots of love to all the year-round staff. Thank you so much for all of your hard work and for continuing to keep us so connected.
Oh Alford Lake Camp spirit, the beauty we all know...crushed for all who were eagerly anticipating the drive down that little road in South Hope and the first triumphant run (please walk!) down the hill. Sending so much love to the whole ALC family.
